How can I lock a folder on a Mac laptop?
I tried “Get Info” and I clicked lock put when I opened it, it didn’t ask me for a password.
I want to lock a folder with a password but I don’t want to add a password to my computer account….JUST THE FOLDER.
Locking a folder just prevents you from being able to delete it, it doesn’t do anything to protect the contents of the folder. It is a hold over from the Mac OS 9 days. There is no way to just password protect one folder in the OS, the only place password protection is implemented for the finder is through login.
